Yogacharya BKS Iyengar, born 14th December 1918, was the world’s foremost modern-day master of yoga, having devoted a lifetime to its study. ‘Guruji’, (as Iyengar is affectionately known to his many thousands of students), is widely credited with introducing yoga to the western world.

About Ali Dashti

Ali is a Senior teacher based in Bern, Switzerland and Pune, India. He trained directly as an apprentice of B.K.S. Iyengar and was an instructor at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute since 1986.

Ali is known for his sharp eye, gentle manner and vast depth of knowledge all of which make his workshops and Zoom classes very popular with students and teachers around the world - not to mention the fact that learning wit Ali is fun! He also offers a mentoring programme for teacher training. Ali can be seen in numerous books and videos such as "Yoga: the Path to Holistic Health", and "Understanding Yoga through Body Knowledge". He has also released his own books "The Art of Sequencing " and "Yoga-My Love" for Iyengar yoga teachers. These books have been translated into French, Chinese, Spanish and Persian.
